Frequently Asked...

Most of these questions are related to the Opera House under normal operating conditions. During renovations, please contact us with any questions.

What are the box-office hours?

While the Opera House undergoes renovations our administrative office is closed. Our staff is working from home offices and can usually answer questions or sell tickets via phone or email Tuesday through Friday between 9:00 a.m and 3:00 p.m. On days that there is a performance, remaining tickets go on sale in the lobby one hour before curtain.

When do the doors open?

In most cases, our lobby and Will Call opens one hour prior to the performance, and theater doors open 30 minutes prior to each performance.

Do you sell food and drinks?

The concession counter located in our lobby sells soda, water, cookies and other baked goods prior to each performance and during intermission. Refreshments ARE allowed in the theater.

How big is the theater?

We can accommodate 299 patrons which includes the main level and balcony. There is NO elevator to our balcony level. A wheelchair lift is available from the ground level entrance to the lobby/main level.

Are seats reserved?

Tickets to most of our shows are reserved seating only, and you'll choose your seats in the sales process. Shows labeled "General Admission" are first-come, first-served.

How do I pick-up my tickets if I can't print them myself?

You can choose "Will Call" as the delivery method for your tickets, and they will be held for you to pick-up the night of the performance. Please save your ticket confirmation email.

If my tickets are at Will Call can I pick them up before the day of the show?

You are welcome to pick-up your Will Call tickets in advance any time that our administrative office is open.

Is your theater accessible?

The Franklin Opera House is handicap accessible, except for our balcony. The Franklin Opera House accessible entrance is at the front corner of the City Hall building, and a wheelchair lift can take patrons to the lobby/main level (but not the balcony). We generally reserve six wheelchair spaces for handicapped patrons and their companions located in an area that is closest to the lobby doors.

The FOH has an assistive listening system available for use.

How many stairs are there if I have seats in the balcony?

Our balcony does not have elevator access. There are 22 stairs to reach the balcony level. The staircase is 6 feet wide with hand rails on one side, so feel free to take your time.

How do I get there?

We are located at 316 Central St., Franklin, NH 03235.

Where can I park my car?

Free public parking is available near the Opera House entrance along Central St., and in the lot directly behind the building, and in the municipal parking lots behind Central Street businesses. A map showing parking lots is HERE.

Please do not park in the lot for the apartment buildings behind City Hall... your car may be towed if you do.

Where can I stay in the area?

Options for local accommodations include hotels, motels, B&Bs, and Airbnb. SCROLL DOWN for a list of places within 8 miles of the Opera House.

Can I take pictures?

Cameras and recording devices are not allowed during the show unless permission is given during the curtain speech beforehand.

Do you cancel shows due to inclement weather?

Our inclement weather policy is simple. If the traveling artist can get to the Franklin Opera House for the show, the show will go on. Only if an artist cannot get to the venue will we ever cancel a show. Standard policy is to not issue refunds for those who choose to stay home when the weather isn’t so good.

Do you offer discounts?

Members of the Franklin Opera House receive ticket vouchers good for many (but not all) shows. Members at the Star level receive 25% off all tickets. All performances have a Student/Senior discount offered. We also offer group discounts, please call the office directly for more information.
